Remembering our 4th ;o)

I don't want to forget what we did this year.....

We started our festivities on Thursday Evening at the Singing Flag. Chow-ing down on Burger King for the kiddos, KFC for the adults and plenty of cupcakes for dessert. This was the first year Sweet Pea wasn't scared of the Boom. We went with friends who had never been. Her Hubby didn't want to admit it but he had a good time. The kids got their faces painted and had balloon dogs made, which promptly got popped of course. But I think the highlight of the entire evening was as were leaving my Mom put my Niece in the wrong car. We have a NEW Honda Pilot and my mom stopped at a car a few ahead of ours and proceeded to open the door and put my niece in the car seat. We all had a good laugh but poor mom was really embarrassed.

Then on 4th of July we visited our local annual parade. My brother joined us with his daughter. We watched a million cars, and horses pass before us, while we ate yummy Kettle Korn. Daddy didn't drive in the parade this year he just patrolled the area, but it was nice because he got to come hang out with us for a change. After the parade we headed to my mom's house for a bit of pool time and BBQ. It was fun to watch the kids play and get all muddy, my son's favorite part.

We watched Fireworks with some friends.. a quick in and out. It was nice to not deal with all the crowds and be home some what early. The fireworks were great and again Sweet Pea enjoyed them from the comfort of my lap. Once we got home Little Buddy and I played with a few sparklers. The Man down our street usually set off a ton of fireworks, this year he was pretty quiet. When Daddy got home we lit our 6 ground flowers and called it a night. It was cute to watch the boys light fireworks, that is one of my favorite 4th of July memories as a kid. Playing with the sparklers, and watching Dad make the big ones go off. he would prep all day for the evenings festivities.

Hope you all had a fun and safe 4th, we did!!!!

December third & fourth (a tad late)

Wed. wasn't so crazy can't think why I forgot to post...hummm

* We headed out nice and quick this moring....
* Little buddy was getting an award for PE my mom & Jim joined us as we watching him beam with excitement.
* We then Ran Sweet Pea to school, then hubby had to head to work. I'm very happy he could make the awards assembly.
* While the kids were at school I frantically wrapped ...hoping if the gifts are wrapped they will be less likely to find them...
* After we got Andrew we came home and vegged out....relaxing was sweet.
* After dinner and home work we enjoyed "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (Jimm Carrey) Version....

Yesterday was a fun filled day...lots of playing and connecting!!!

* It started with Sweet Pea and I working in Little Buddies classroom...We are making a top secret project for the parents christmas gifts. That I'm helping with...I'm very excited about it. I spent the entire time photographing the kids...I loved playing with my new lense...loved it.
* Then we headed out to Mc Donald's for playgroup...meet a new member and was very interested in her story. they adopted their son after years of trying. It was a really beautiful story. It was also nice to listen to someone appreciate the club so much. She found what she needed with ECMC and has used us to the full effect...exactly what we are here for...support.
* Then we ran to Walmart...trying to get in & out quick...didn't happen and they were out of so much of what I wanted UGH
* Off to Diane's house to play before we picked up our big boys.
* Back to school...and dealt with a lost jacket, which ended-up being lost in his back-pack heeheehee
* Once home we did our homework, ate a quick dinner, played with trains
* Then we ran to the rec. center to practice for Saturdays parade...very excited. We have watched it the last 2 years so I'm excited that we get to walk in it this year.
* Then the kids and I drove around checking out christmas lights....they LOVE to do this and I must remember to do it more often. Something so simple makes them so excited.

Well off to start today maybe I can sneak a 2nd post in.....I'm motivated this month!!!

December Second

* Headed to school...so early we had to sit and wait
* Went down to the county clerks office to get Sweet Pea's birth certificate (She wants to play t-ball)
* Tried to walk around downtown, but everything was closed...today is tuesday so I'm not sure why...we did get to see the train go by 2x so that was worth it.
* Ran to Joann's on a mission to get a felt stocking kit ...NO luck (we found one later on line thank goodness)
* Came home and got crafty with Sweet Pea....she painted an ornament & I made a ton of repurposed target bags
* Picked up big brother from school
* We finally finished our tree!!!!
* We set up or advent calendar tree....for each day till Christmas the kids will put an ornament on a tiny tree...super cute, I can't remember where I got the idea...it sure wasn't my own.
* Made Chili...the best yet.
* Snuggled next to a fire & watched Amazing Race, Little People Big World, and Jon & Kate plus 8

Tomorrow is a new day...I love the holidays

Happy Valentines Day

Usually I don't like Valentines Day ....way to commercial...you spend a million dollars on flowers only to have them die early because the whole world is doing the same thing!! Then you try to go to dinner and every body else is too, you pay double the price because you wanna be out on Valentines Day. UGH!!! Well sadly I'm a sucker this year...well wouldn't you be if your hubby was willing to get a baby sitter and hit the town!! I'm very excited to go to dinner it has been since before Christmas that we went out ALONE. The kids will be with sitter for 4 1/2 hours YIPPY!!! What ta do with all that time hummmmmm.....

I did enjoy today at the kiddos schools. We had a big party in the Kinder Class imagine 20 kids strung out on candy & cupcakes exchanging valentines at the same time....total chaos, but oh so fun!!! I have never seen so much junk in one place!! I thought parents were to send healthy snacks....well we got milk with strawberry nesquik in it, pizza, cupcakes, candy, chips (3 kinds) cream cheese & jelly sandwiches, frosted sugar cookies all before NOON. WOW!! Sadly to my son & daughters dismay most of it ended up in the trash!!! I don't want the dental bills. They had a great time even if I spoiled the snacking part of it.
Wishing you all a Happy Valentines Day...now go hug your loved ones!!!

Christmas Blues...

I'm so very sad I put away the last of the Christmas decorations today....so we now have a bare tree waiting to be dis-mantles. It is hard to believe that Christmas comes and goes so fast. It is also hard to believe or understand what that time of year does to us well me as a person. I seems to appreciate and enjoy so much more than the rest of the year. If only I could take that and make it work all year long, but then I guess Christmas time wouldn't be the same. So I will be blue for a day about Christmas but enjoy they rest of Winter with a smile on.

Happy July4th!!!!

We are off to a Parade & off to a BBQ. Yippy don't you love holidays when family can just get together & hang out!!! I do...no stress of having a house clean, no stress of looking perfect in your "special" clothes, no stress of gift giving (is it the right gift etc.) Just hanging out...I love the 4th!! To bad fireworks are so dangerous, when I was a kid we had a blast literally with fireworks. My uncle use to take us to the beach and we would shoot them into the ocean off the end of his truck. SOOO very fun dangerous I know, but oooh so fun. Here's to a great 4th today...I'll post a photo later meanwhile here is my fav. of Sweet Pea from last year.
