Last Friday we hit the snow... since I was unplugged no Friday 5 went up... I can catch-up today ;o)
1. We had an amazing time in the snow. We arrived at the cabin on Friday and didn't leave till Monday afternoon. It was great to be with family. It was great to have amazing weather. It was great to simply be in a beautiful place and re-connect.
2. We are continuing to have a rough time with my son's teacher. She had the nerve to call my husband at work instead of speaking with me. I could go on for a long time about how frustrated I am with the way she treats my son but I will save that for a full day post.
3. We tried the new 1/2 gallon ice cream "Drumsticks" it was heaven you should really try it!!!
4. I finally received the last of my Christmas scrapbooking supplies so I can finish my December Daily Album.
5. I made the best Chicken Pot Pie the last few nights.... thanks to a dear friend for her easy recipe. 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup frozen veggies, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1 or 2 pie dough, 2 chicken breast pre-cooked. I boiled the chicken & then cut it up. Threw everything into a bowl & mixed it up, poured it into a pie pan, set the oven at 350. Finally I put the pie dough over everything and brushed it with a bit of egg white. Baked for 45-60 min. Enjoy!!!!

Friday 5
1. I think I'm on my way to joining the gym. A friend gave me a 30 day pass, to "activate it" you have to join the gym for $10.00 then at the end of 30 days I can cancel in writing if I want. I went 3 days this week, 2 with friends & 1 by myself. I took pilates classes and LOVED them. I'm looking forward to more classes and new beginnings.
2. My son had a rough week back to school. He had 3 yucky days. I really wish his teacher wasn't so hard on him. The first time he yelled out an answer (the correct one I might add) during math... which got him detention!! The 2nd day he was helping put the lunch box back after the bell.... and today he couldn't be quiet in music.... he lost his playdate and special snack afterschool. My fingers are crossed for a good next week.
3. My poor hubby has had to work soooo much lately!!! I'm missing him!!!!
4. I want to commit to some "assignments" this year.
the first is 52 new
the 2nd is taking a photo once a month of my family of 4
Working out at least 4 days a week
Planning my meals each sunday & maybe making sunday soup day
5. I need to get going on our camping for this year... hummm so many places to go and so little time.
Maybe the redwoods
TGIF let the weekend begin!!!!!

Tuesday's Ten is only Seven this week...
1. Spent the weekend buying our first BIG screen T.V. the first in about 15 years!!! Cable guy comes next weekend to install all the bells and whistles. So fun!!!
2. Had an amazing trip in LA with friends!!! Disneyland with no kids was awesome. No little mouths to feed, to listen to arguing, & no crying!!! Lines were great... we rode everything a bunch of times. Watching Ellen was sooo fun but exhausting. We jumped and screamed more than I have in years. She had Demi Morre & Michael Buble on the show. We came home with Demi's perfume Wanted & Michael's new CD Crazy Love When we watched the show on Wed. we saw ourselves for about 10 seconds. It wasn't about the air time but rather the whole experience. It was a once in a life time little adventure with my girl friends.
3. My Daughter is obsessed with tea parties!!! We have at least 2 a day.... moving up slowly to real food and water. She is getting to old to pretend she informed us the other day.
4. Buddy had his Blue and Gold ceremony with Cub Scouts. He received his bobcat badge and a new slide for his tie. He was very proud of himself. He is becoming such a grown-up little boy. Making good choices and understanding why we do things. Some of his friends played with legos while other people where getting their awards... We asked him to not play, at first he was mad at us... but soon realized that it wasn't polite to play while the other's got their awards. He is growing up so fast.
5. T-Ball & Baseball practice started last week. Both kids are doing so well, this season is going to be so good. Our two are enjoying it, working hard, and excited to participate. I'm so happy they have found something they both enjoy. They practice together and cheer each other on.
6. Planning Buddies 8th Birthday. The last two years he just wanted a pizza party. This time we are heading to the movies to see "How to train your Dragon" in 3D. Found party supplies on-line, Bought each child the book as their party favor, and I'm going to make the invitations look like small movie reels. So fun to plan a Birthday around a theme he loves.
7. I can't seem to get enough of lady gaga & p!nk lately ;o) They get me moving and I can actually accomplish something. I love music that makes you move!!!!

Ten on Tuesday
I know it is wed. but I'm getting a 10 in this week if it kills me ;o)
1. Missy and I shared a wonderful afternoon on Sunday shopping and doing girly things. I was so proud walking round holding my little girls hand. She was tickled with her purchase from build a bear store. She carried her bag so proud, purchasing an adorable lady bug out fit for her bear, and harry potter glasses for her brother. I told her they had to come out of her piggy bank, she didn't care. I won't tell her I never took the money out.
2. Hubby and I got the official OK to plan our once in a life time Hawaii trip. I'm soo not going to get my hopes up just yet.... but we are so close to actually putting money on this one. It will be hard to leave the kids but they will be just fine. Now to find a spot for the dog...
3. 5 days and I will be in LA!!!! OMG I can't believe I'm going to see Ellen, AND Disneyland without my kiddos in tow. It will be an adventure for sure.
4. Bummbed that I'm going to miss my son's "teaching" presentation next week..... He is going to teach the class how to Geocaching.... He is so excited. I can't wait to see the video. We picked up little compasses for each kid.
5. The kids are ready to play ball... All signed-up for Baseball/T-ball. I hope we get the coaches we want and can keep our buddies.
6. Tomorrow is the 100th Day of School. It will be an adventure to count everything with all the kids. I'm excited to see all their projects. Missy did a heart with 100 pompoms on it. It turned out pretty cute... and it was her idea.
7. A friend and I made 65 Gingerbread houses out of graham crackers for the 3 kinder classes. I don't get why it is that other parents never step in to help. So many parents think things just happen, or expect the teachers to do ALL the work. What ever happened to the whole process of a community raising children....
8. I can't stand the feeling I get every time I hear the Air Raid Siren go off on the first Wed. of every month at 11.... It is such an yucky feeling. A quick reminder of the past and what could come.
9. Sad that our Tahoe trip go cancelled for us.... it is understandable but still not happy about it. So we just need to come up with another adventure in its place. The kids didn't get to play in the snow last year.... so I want to make sure they can this year.
10. Feeling very lucky to have good friends around me willing to help when needed. Lucky to have my children learning the difference between good friends and bad friends. Happy they are making good choices. Missy has chosen some great little girls to be friends with. Buddy is getting there... he likes to get into mischief but he is learning from his mistakes. He has a great little friend who he can share many of his adventures with.

Ten on Tuesday
1. Spent the afternoon today playing Hulabaloo with Missy. Every time she didn't win she said "Oh Man; Cheese and Butter". Not sure where that came from but it was cute.
2. Hubby is once again off on training... only for a week this time ;o)
3. We have our first night away from both kids this coming weekend. It will be the first time since our youngest was born, 5 1/2 years, that we get a night out by ourselves. We are heading to an adult only party. Catered food, bowling, karaoke, and cake it should be a nice night. It is the trial run for my mom, so she can see if she can take them for a week.
4. Knitting Cats for "Community Concern for Cats". We are hoping to participate in the Disney "give a day get a day" program. 2 cats down and 2 ta go.
5. Heading out on a field trip to a local pizza parlor tomorrow with Missy's class. Kinda weird, she hates pizza and isn't even going to eat the one she makes.
6.Exactly 2 weeks from today I will be a a live taping of "The Ellen Show." So excited for a road trip! My girlfriends have been trying for a few years to get tickets. Then one day they both got called and both got 2 tickets, so four of us get to embark on the adventure.
7. Finished my infinity scarf this week.... very happy with the results.
8. Got Buddies results back from his star testing, he went from a 2.3 reading level to a 3.2. We are so proud of him. He seems to love reading all of a sudden. & we had Missy's assessment yesterday, they are going to try her in a first grade reading group once a week. She is well above Kindergarden levels when it comes to reading. We hope to keep her working hard.
9. I can't believe my boy is going to be 8 in a matter of a month!!!!
10. Made yummy Minestrone soup from scratch the other day. It was perfect!!!!
